PRINCE HARRY UNEXPECTEDLY REVEALS THE REAL REASON HE AND PRINCE WILLIAM HAVE BEEN ESTRANGED FOR YEARS — AND THE MOMENT OF ADMISSION THAT LEFT THE ENTIRE PALACE “FROZEN.”

Prince Harry reveals the reason for the conflict with his brother – Prince William

Prince Harry claims his brother Prince William broke a pact they had made not to let their office staff exchange negative press stories about each other.

“William and I both saw what happened in our dad’s office and we had an agreement that we would never let that happen in our office,”

Prince Harry said in the latest episode of the Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan.

The 38-year-old Duke of Sussex continued: “I would rather be ‘destroyed’ by the press than play this game of expecting my brother’s office to do what we said they would. But he never did, which is heartbreaking.”

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, also detailed how the negative press coverage began after their trip to Australia in 2018. “The problem is when someone is getting married, who should be in a supporting role, relies on the limelight and that makes people uncomfortable. That changes the equation because he believes the only way his charity can succeed and the only way his reputation can grow or improve is by being on the front page of the newspapers,” Harry explained in the documentary.

There have been rumours of a rift between Prince William, 40, and his younger brother for years since Harry began dating Meghan Markle, an American actress, in the summer of 2016.

However, the split became even wider after the couple stepped down from their royal duties in January 2020 and gave a bombshell interview to Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

Both Harry and Markle accused the then-famous chat show host at the time of members of the British Royal Family making insensitive comments about race, about the skin color of their first child.

The former TV star also claimed to Oprah Winfrey (68) that Prince William’s wife – Kate Middleton (40) burst into tears before her wedding in May 2018 because they argued over the choice of bridesmaid dresses for Princess Charlotte – William’s daughter.

The allegations immediately caused the Prince and Princess of Wales to go into “defensive” mode and deny everything. A few days after the interview, William told reporters that the Royal Family “is not a racist family”.

Journalist Katie Nicholl, who has had close ties to the Royal Family for many years, later said Kate Middleton was “heartbroken” about the crying incident because she is “extremely careful about how she treats other people”.

Investigative journalist Tom Bower also claimed months later that Markle was the one who made her sister-in-law “burst into tears”. Since then, Harry and William have avoided each other at royal events.

In June 2022, it was reported that the brothers had no plans to go out for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. Harry is now living in California with Markle while William remains in the UK.

Even Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022 couldn’t bring her grandsons back together.

A source close to Prince Harry told the Sunday Times (UK) that appearing together is “uncomfortable” for both of them but “everyone is trying their best”.

Katie Nicholl explained at the time why William had such a hard time forgiving Harry. “He always thought Harry would be his wingman, and now he’s doing it himself. Thank goodness he has Kate by his side,” said the author of The New Royals – Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown.

This was a reference to Harry’s previous claim that William was “trapped” in royal life, as his brother was the heir to the British throne.

“Hopefully time will heal everything,” Prince Harry told Winfrey in the 2021 interview. “I love William so much… We’ve been through hell together.”
