Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were recognized as Humanitarians of the Year at the annual Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental
Health Day Gala last night. The award was given in recognition of their efforts through their Archewell Foundation to make the digital world a safer place for youngsters and their families.
The couple made a stylish appearance on the red carpet at Spring Studios in New York City, both opting for chic black ensembles. Meghan shone in a sleek black Armani suit paired with a chunky gold necklace, while Harry complemented her look with a black suit, white shirt, and black tie.

During the ceremony, Harry spoke about the dangers of social media for young children. He revealed that 4,000 families are currently pursuing legal action through the Social Media Victims Law Centre, emphasizing the need for more protective measures against online threats. The news emerges as Prince Harry and Meghan’s ‘humanitarian aspects’ are ‘somewhat overshadowed’.

He stated:
“Tonight, we are all here together to focus on what remains one of the most pressing issues of our time..”
Prince Harry continued:
“Let me share a number with you: 4,000. That’s how many families the Social Media Victims Law Centre is currently representing – families whose children have been harmed or lost forever to social media.”, reports the Express.
“Four thousand cases at just one firm. And that number represents only those parents who have been able to link their child’s circumstance to social media use.”
Harry explained how “there may be no road to closure for grieving parents” as some companies “refuse to disclose” childrens’ activities on their platforms.
The duo’s Archewell Foundation revealed that its Parents’ Network program is teaming up with ParentsTogether, a nonprofit organization focused on family advocacy and digital safety.

The Parents’ Network serves as a support system for parents and caregivers whose kids have been impacted by social media dangers, including families who have lost a child or whose children have faced life-threatening situations due to online risks.
The Parents’ Network launched in 2022 as a support group for American families who lost a child to social media-related suicide or whose children have faced challenges because of digital platforms, and the fresh collaboration with ParentsTogether seeks to broaden the network’s reach to assist more families.
While Markle was in Paris until recently, attending the Balenciaga fashion show, this marks the prince’s second major appearance in New York City this week.
