Prince Harry Claims the Royal Family Lied to Protect His Brother

Prince Harry has accused the British royal family of being willing to lie in order to protect his older brother

, Prince William, according to a newly released trailer for the remaining episodes of the Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan.

The trailer, released on December 12, offers a preview of the final three episodes of the highly anticipated series,

which are scheduled to air on December 15. In it, Prince Harry suggests that the royal institution prioritised safeguarding the heir to the throne over defending him and his wife.

“They were happy to lie to protect my brother,” Harry says in the clip. “They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.”

Meghan Markle adds her own stark assessment, stating: “I wasn’t being thrown to the wolves. I was being fed to the wolves.”

The first three episodes of Harry & Meghan, released last week, focused largely on the couple’s relationship with the British tabloid press and the impact of intense media scrutiny on their marriage. While those episodes avoided making new direct allegations against senior royals, the tone of the newly released trailer signals a sharper critique of the monarchy itself.

The British royal family has been bracing for renewed criticism following the documentary, particularly given the couple’s previous public accusations against senior figures, including King Charles III and Prince William. Their explosive interview with US television host Oprah Winfrey in 2021 marked the first time Harry and Meghan publicly accused the institution of failing to support them.

Buckingham Palace said it would not comment on the documentary series. Netflix confirmed that members of the royal family declined to participate or respond, and a royal source indicated that neither palace officials nor representatives of Prince William had been given advance access to the episodes.

Despite the lack of direct involvement from the monarchy, the documentary continues to attract intense public and media attention, reigniting debate over the role of the royal institution, media relations, and long-standing tensions within the House of Windsor.
